Two more days left in April. We’ve had 11 days in a row without paying out on a single winner. So far, after 28 days we are 29.9% up. Fingers crossed for two more good days.

I have made 140 t-shirts, hoodies, long-sleeve shirts and sweatshirts, with a transportation theme. They will be added to the shop in the next few days

MKK Racing continues to do well, laying horses to lose. We feed all the day’s races and based on criteria we’ve set, it selects the horses to lay on an exchange. We want the horses to lose. We are behaving like a bookmaker.
Day 20 in April and we are £150 (15%) up

Bank on 1st April: £1,000 Current Bank: £1,150 Target £1,231 Profit / Loss (£): £150 Profit / Loss (%): 15%
It occurred to me the other day that I need a ‘corporate’ website as a launchpad for all the other websites and business activities I have setup and run. So, that will be today’s task. Another piece in the MKK jigsaw. Choose a suitable domain name, crate a site, links to business workstreams, about us, contact us, privacy policy. The usual.
And I need to link this blog, to this new website and all the other workstream websites too.

After 14 months, my current contact ends today. So, I begin the task of finding a new contract. Not able to leave the 9-to-5 life yet but it will give me lots of time to work on mkktshirts.com and tjitacosmetics.com, whilst I look for another IT job.

Even at the age of 55, I still have lots of goals. Slowing down is not one of them.
Building successful brands and websites that are profitable that
So, I made the decision when I founded MKK Lion, that a minimum of 10% of profits would go to charity every year. I have a list of 50 or so charities that I’d like to donate to, that focus on worthy causes and people in the UK, around the world and animal welfare.
I genuinely would love to build and grow businesses that generate lots of cash and setup a foundation to help other people. I’ll have the big house, cars and dogs, not worrying about bills and the cost of living, the kids financially secure.
Seems the right thing to do. Helping others.
My current IT contract is coming to an end on Wednesday 15th April. Then I’m going to have lots of time to work on MKK Lion.
So much to do.
Oh and look for another job until the businesses allow me to step away from the 9-to-5.
I have been running three models since the beginning of January. The tips I provide here are from the most successful model.
What I have observed is the model that picks horses that have never won before and have long odds is the most successful.
In reverse order, since 1st April, with each model started with £1,000
Model 1 is the Tortoise and Model 2 is the Hare. The tortoise has picked 112 losers (98.2%) and just 2 winners (1.75%). It’s slow, steady and plods along, picking up small profits for each horse it chooses.
Model 2 is the Hare. The profits and losses each day swing much more wildly, picking 142 losers (82.1% and 31 winners (17.92%)/ Like the fable, the profits race up then crash down.
Over the same period, the Tortoise model is by far the better model. Those are the tips I give you every day and use myself, gambling my own money.
Just though, you might be interested in the logic behind some of the models.
I have run the Tortoise model three times. The first time for six months as a paper exercise to test it. It made a profit. In 2023, I ran it with real money and it made a profit, but then I was made redundant and needed the gambling money to pay bills. Now I am doing it for a 3rd time, using real money again and again, the risk levels, the average earnings and the trajectory of the bank balance going up, is consistent across all three times I ran the model.
So, we are firmly on Team Tortoise. Slow and steady. Get rich slow.
After years of developing a model that selects horses to bet on, based on over 150,000 results going back three years, careful refining of selection criteria, to ensure the greatest possible success – my daughter picks “I am Maximus” for the 2026 Grand National because she likes the name. It came first and she won £50. My horse came 12th and I lost £10. Typical!
April is proving to be very good so far, picking horses what we want to lose and laying them on betting exchanges. I feed all the UK and Irish races and horses for the day into a model and it chooses the horses to place lay bets using my own money, with the aim of making a profit.
I am trying to grow another revenue stream, selling the same horse racing tips that my model creates, to subscribers who want the information to place their own bets.
This week I picked up a couple of more subscribers.
If I could grow the number of subscribers to 1,000, that would represent £10,000 per month, before tax. That would be like having a second IT contract job and get me to the promised land of quitting 9-to-5 life. Then I would be completely self-employed and able to focus full-time on developing the clothing and cosmetics websites and do the horse racing. Horses are going to be a “get rich slow” scheme but that’s OK. Bookmakers make millions every year. I can be patient.
